Boat Speed and Power Estimates

Calculated estimates of maximum boat speed, or total power required, are for a monohedron planing monohull with approximately 16 degree deadrise. Your boat may be faster or slower depending on hull form, deadrise, load, LCG, waterline length, waterline beam, and other factors.  Estimates only apply to planing monohulls above 24 knots.

For V-hulls, subtract one knot for every two degrees of deadrise above sixteen degrees. Conversely, hulls with deadrise less than sixteen degrees may be faster.
