"NO
WORRIES" WITH ULTRAJET PROPULSION
This 53' (16.1m) aluminum catamaran named "NO WORRIES" is propelled by twin
UltraJet 340 drives. Power is supplied by 493 bhp (368 kW) Cummins QSC8.3
diesel engines via 1:1 ZF transmissions. Vessel control is with Ultra's
joystick control at the helm (no wheel) and a remote joystick station on the

NEW,
FAST, STYLISH "PT COMMANDER"
Twin UltraJet 305 waterjets propel the new 39' (12 m) PT Commander designed
and manufactured by Rivolta Marine of Sarasota, Florida. Power is delivered
by twin Yanmar 6LY2M-STE diesel engines, via ZF220 transmissions. Rivolta
reported the PT achieved 37.1 knots during sea trials. Control of the jets
is with Ultra's joystick control system with integrated control of the
hydraulic bow thruster (also supplied by Ultra Dynamics). Several modes
permit operation on joystick alone for maneuvering around the marina,
joystick steer for transit, and conventional operation by wheel and
throttles for cruising. The PT Commander uses the same hull as the Rivolta
Jet Couple which is also propelled by a twin UltraJet 305 propulsion system.

OUTPERFORMS EARLIER MODELS
Rivolta Marine recently launched their Coupe J-4 upgraded to UltraJet propulsion. This twin UltraJet 305 version of the Coupe J-4 has faster acceleration and higher speed than the previous models with the same engines. Power is provided by a twin 370 hp Yanmar diesel engines via ZF220 transmissions. 440 hp engines are optional. Operation of the twin UltraJet steering and reversing is with the UltraJet joystick control system. The hydraulic bow thruster, powered by an Ultra Dynamics' hydraulic system, can operate for extended periods and, in coordination with the jet drive, provides the ultimate in maneuverability. |

BUILDER IMPRESSED WITH ULTRAJETS
Twin UltraJet 340 jet drives propel this new 33' aluminum catamaran designed and manufactured by Maxweld Boats, Inc. of Hebo, OR. The private owners plan to use "JUST BECAUSE" for cruising in British Columbia and Southern Alaska and for fishing trips off the central California coast. Power is provided by twin 450 bhp Caterpillar 3126 diesel engines via ZF280 transmissions. Boat speed is in excess of 30 knots at full displacement including 470 US gallons of diesel fuel. The reversing deflector on each UltraJet
drive is operated with the new Ultra/Glendinning electrohydraulic control
system. Click here for more information on this
control system. The builder remarked that he was impressed with the way this boat accelerated "out of the hole". Better than previous jet boats he had built.

BUILDER SAYS "PRETTY AMAZING"
A single UltraJet 305 now propels Mystic a 29 sports fishing/excursion boat built by Costa Azul of Cost Rica. Power is provided by a single Caterpillar 3116 rated at 350 bhp. A marine transmission is not installed. Prior to replacing the original jet drive, the builder reported difficulty getting the boat on plan, limited boat speeds and inability to plane with normal passenger load. With the UltraJet 305 drive, he reported much improved acceleration and a boat speed of 35 knots with a displacement of over 5 tons plus the ability to plane with a full passenger load.
The reversing deflector is operated with Ultra’s
Hydromechanical control system. To quote the builder, Mike
Anderson, “this week the boat hit 35 knots, remember that's
a single jet with a 350 Cat, so pretty amazing.” |

A single UltraJet 305 propels the new Katama 30, a high performance classic
weekender, racing syndicate tender, or commuter yacht designed by C.W. Hood
Yachts and Doyle Marine Engineering and built by C.W. Hood Yachts of
Marblehead, MA. Power is provided by a single 414 bhp Yanmar 6LYM-STE diesel
engine. The UltraJet 305 is installed in an Ultra Dynamics-suggested
nacelle which provides better immersion for the jet and improved directional
stability for the hull compared to other jet installation methods. This new
boat exceeded expectations by achieving 33+ knots during initial sea trials.
